New Prospect FD receives assistance on early morning fire from agencies backfilling for LFD
Lawrenceburg Now
Shortly after 5:00 AM this morning the New Prospect Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire on Pond Drive. Our first arriving units were met with heavy fire conditions throughout the entire structure.
Units in town back filling for Lawrenceburg Fire including Rutherford County Fire, LaVergne Fire, and Murfreesboro Fire arrived immediately to assist with the operation along with units from Crossroads, Leoma, and Gandy Fire Departments.
First arriving units were able to affect the rescue of two family pets that had became trapped by the fire. The pets were treated on the scene by Lawrence County EMS. Fire Crews were able to stop the progress of the fire, and save some valuables from the home.
On a more personal note, it is obvious that our department along with responders from across our county, are hurting with the recent loss of our brother Engineer Jason Dickey from Lawrenceburg Fire Department. Our members are fatigued both mentally and physically from recent incidents, and the loss of our friend.
We have, and will continue to serve our community to the best of our abilities. With that being said, this morning, we were met with the assistance of fire personnel from across the State of Tennessee. There is no way to describe our gratitude to everyone who assisted us this morning. The support that has been given to us from other agencies and the community has been nothing short of amazing.
We ask that you continue to keep the family of Engineer Jason Dickey, and the Lawrenceburg Fire Department family in your thoughts, and prayers.
